Osbourne admitted in a 2021 interview that during the COVID-19 lockdown, he used an air rifle to shoot cats and birds that wandered onto his property in Los Angeles.
He described this activity as "good fun" and said shooting helped him "get out of his head," especially as he was worried about his Parkinson's disease progressing.
He mentioned that when he started, he couldn’t shoot well, but eventually there were "dead cats and birds every minute."
Osbourne also noted that his own pets would stay away during these shootings.
This behavior during the lockdown was separate from an earlier incident in the early 1980s when Ozzy, struggling with severe drug addiction, shot 17 of his family cats.
